Get rid of Xunlai Tournament House
Honestly, I really just don't like the Xunlai Tournament House. Seriously, all it does is reward players that aren't good enough to AT with Reward Points. The way I see it, the name should mean what they are. They're "REWARD POINTS" not "RANDOM POINTS" or something. The XTH just gives them out for mostly people that just random guess who's gonna win the GvG/HB tourney. If they're going to give out points for that, they might as well give players that don't PvP free gold every once in a while. I think that would balance it out.

I know... XTH is pretty much useless. Do people actually use that system anyway?
First time I talked to the Xunlai Tournament NPC (forgot his name) in Lions Arch I was like... ok now what the hell is this crap? Must I really stop playing, go to that website, make an account, then pick a guess see if I get any reward?
Seemed like a waste of time then, and I still feel that way...

but even then I suppose some people actually have fun doing this... too bad for them. No offense.

Does it really matter if people guess and get ~50 reward points? I really don't see how it's affecting anything.

Its a stupid system as it is. It should either be fully integrated into the game or not exist at all.

While it generates awareness of the monthly champs, I'm not sure it actually generates interest in GvG or HB. My guess is that most people simply make picks without thinking about it much and hope to cash in once the rp's are available without ever following the event or watching any matches. Those who actually open up obs and watch are probably the people who are already hooked in.
Regardless, rps are already pretty meaningless aside from making keys cheaper and more available which in turn makes creme bruele and firewater more readily available. With rp weapons and armor I don't really care if causual pvpers unlock a few pvp skins so they can look mildly better in RA.
Its nice to have RP's but to think that everyone plays for the rps and get pissed when others get the for guessing is silly. RP's are just a mild benfit for doing something you enjoy independantly.

This sounds like a rant from some "experienced" PvPer who thinks us PvE-ers and "inexperienced" PvPers do not deserve tournament points. You guys can make predictions too, so it's fair for everyone. The system is fine the way it is currently, it sounds like the only reason you want to get rid of this is so only tournament players can get points. That's being called greedy. Greediness is bad. Therefore you are bad. Case closed.
Besides, why be greedy and hog the Zaishen Keys to yourselves? :P

I can't imagine that removing a new feature that gives free rewards without harming anyone would endear ANet in the hearts of players. Don't PvP players who actually participate in the ATs have a better chance of reaping more rewards from the XTH? Also, ANet already gives free chests every month to people who don't PvP(and those who do both). The Elonian chests.

The point I'm trying to make is, if they're called "Reward Points" shouldn't they be a "reward"? Not a "gift"?

If you know enough about the PvP tournaments to make an accurate prediction about who's going to win, I'd say you deserve a 'reward.'

Nope, my random guesses turned out much better than my predictions based on how good these guilds are in my opinion.
